Steve & Gill Raine

Steve was born and raised in Temuka, then Christchurch in the South Island of New Zealand. Gill was born and raised in Christchurch. We have three children:

• Rebecca who is a teacher and married to Nick LaSpina who works as a youth minister
• Jonathan who is married to Shawnean Wallace and lives in Florida
• Emma who is currently studying to be a Vetinerian

After training and working as an electrician Steve and Gill moved to the North Island to attend the South Pacific Bible College. Following that they moved to Napier and worked with the church there for nearly 10 years. That included teaching, preaching, evangelism and equipping.

Since 1993 Steve has been at the South Pacific Bible College and has held a number of roles that include teaching, administration, fundraising, development and now leading the College as Principal.

Martinez’s support of Steve allows him to function in Mission and Ministry in the following three main areas:

Local Church – Otumoetai.

Steve serves as one of the shepherds and inclusive in this role is a share of the teaching and preaching ministry. Also the Shepherding group work at mentoring an young team of workers who serve in a variety of ministry roles.

South Pacific Bible College

The College began in 1982 primarily to train and equip workers to help serve and lead the church in New Zealand. Since then God has opened doors for SPBC to also train and equip workers for a wide range of South Pacific Island, Australia, and parts of Asia.

Mission

Steve really enjoys opportunities to get out in the mission field, working with graduates, and especially those whom are in church ministry. This has taken Steve to Australia, Fiji, Tonga, Papua New Guinea and Thailand.
